Welcome to the Junior Zookeeper Club — an exclusive online hub for passionate young animal lovers aged 8–14.

If you have joined us for our Saturday Programs or School Holiday Adventures, you have already experienced the excitement of Australia’s Wildest Close Encounters. Now, the adventure continues online.

The Junior Zookeeper Club gives young explorers a place to reconnect with the animals they have met, revisit special memories, and continue learning about wildlife, conservation and animal care.

Members can enjoy:

• Exclusive content featuring behind-the-scenes stories, fun facts, keeper tips, and special updates about your favourite animals
• Photo galleries from recent Saturday sessions and School Holiday programs — you might even spot yourself in action
• Wild learning experiences with engaging content designed especially for Junior Zookeepers
• Members-only surprises with upcoming activities, special events, and exciting opportunities only available to club members

EXCLUSIVE: Saturday Junior Zookeeper Session

Connect with other wildlife lovers by immersing yourself in zoo life during this 3.5-hour session. Parents can drop off their children on the dates below, where they will experience a variety of hands-on zookeeping activities.
Session  - 1:00 -3:30
Meet amazing animals up close, explore habitats, and try hands-on zookeeper tasks—observing behaviours and identifying features. Finish by creating wildlife-inspired artwork to take home.

Bookings are essential and places are limited.

Cost $75 per child, including zoo entry and one shared animal encounter with our koala, primates or meerkats --- valued at $99 for 2 people.

Conservation activities At Home

Our Hands-on Conservation Activities help children learn about animals, habitats, and conservation through simple, interactive experiences.

Activities may include:

  • Conservation-focused learning activities

  • Animal-themed educational experiences

  • Exploring small actions that help protect wildlife

These activities are suitable for school groups, families, and young learners, and are designed to be engaging and age-appropriate.

Colouring In Activities

Our Colouring In activities feature animals from Hobart Zoo & Aquarium and are perfect for younger children.

Parents and teachers can:

  • Download animal-themed colouring sheets

  • Use them for home activities, classroom learning, or quiet creative time

  • Encourage children to learn about animals while colouring

All colouring sheets are free to download and designed to be fun, simple, and educational.
