School Holiday Program

Give your child a hands-on learning experience with animals these school holidays.

Each age group enjoys tailored activities that combine fun with real-world learning, including animal encounters, feeding sessions, enrichment activities, and behind-the-scenes experiences alongside our zoo team.Program includes:
• Animal encounters and feeding experiences
• Enrichment activities and workshops
• Behind-the-scenes learning opportunities
• Lunch, snacks and refreshments
• Certificate of participation

Cost: $150 per child  Time: 9:00am arrival for a 9:15am start – 3:30pm finish (pick-up by 4:00pm)

Program Ages 9–12

A fun and engaging introduction to animal care, perfect for younger participants.

Children will explore different areas of the zoo, interact with animals, and learn how to observe and understand animal wellbeing.

Program highlights:
• Barnyard animal encounters
• Monkey & meerkat enrichment
• Meet reptiles up close
• Why animal poo matters (yes, really!)
• Observing animal physical & mental wellbeing

Program Ages 13–14

A more practical and hands-on program designed for curious teens who want to learn more about how animals are cared for.

Participants will take part in feeding, enrichment and observational activities while developing a deeper understanding of animal behaviour and health.

Program highlights:
• Prepare and deliver animal diets
• Feed a range of species
• Bird enrichment activities
• Work with meerkats and birds
• Animal behaviour studies
• Flock and mob health checks

Program Ages 15–16

A more advanced program for older students interested in animal care, conservation and real-world applications.

Participants will explore animal management, behaviour monitoring and conservation messaging in a more structured and analytical way.

Program highlights:
• Sustainable feeding programs for marine life
• Weighing animals and monitoring health
• Record and analyse animal behaviour
• Work with squirrel & tamarin monkeys
• Communicating conservation messages
