We’re at 620 Middle Tea Tree Road, Brighton TAS 7030, just 30 minutes from Hobart and 10 minutes from Richmond.

We’re open 7 days a week from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, including public holidays (except Christmas Day).

Bookings are recommended—especially during school holidays and weekends—but not essential. Tickets can be purchased online or at the gate.

Yes! HZAA is proud to be an accessible and inclusive destination. Paths are wheelchair-friendly, and we offer sensory-friendly experiences for neurodivergent guests. Everyone belongs here—it's an Adventure Without Barriers.

We’re home to a diverse collection from around the world—Cotton-top Tamarins from Colombia, White Lions from Africa, Tasmanian Devils, meerkats, reptiles, birds, kangaroos, and more. Plus, Tasmania’s largest aquarium, showcasing local marine and freshwater life.

Absolutely! We offer interactive animal experiences, including feeding, behind-the-scenes tours, and encounters with friendly species. Pre-booking is encouraged.

Yes. Our indoor café serves hot meals, drinks, and snacks. It’s fully heated and air-conditioned for comfort year-round.

Yes, we welcome picnics! We have shaded picnic areas and seating throughout the zoo.

HZAA is an all-weather attraction. Our indoor aquarium, café, gift shop, and indoor playground offer plenty to explore regardless of the weather.

Yes. We offer free onsite parking, including spaces for buses and accessible vehicles.

For the safety of our animals and guests, pets are not permitted, with the exception of certified assistance dogs.

Yes! We welcome school groups, tours, and special needs programs. Contact us directly to arrange a tailored experience.

Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We’re committed to eco-friendly building design, water conservation, native plantings, and ethical animal care.

Coming soon! We are currently developing onsite accommodation so guests can extend their stay and experience the zoo from dusk to dawn.
