Get up close to the incredible creatures of Tasmania’s coastal waters. Our marine tanks are home to an array of colourful reef fish, sea stars, anemones, and fascinating local species like seahorses and banded morwong. Beautifully lit and expertly curated, each tank tells the story of life in our oceans.
🐠 Freshwater Tanks

Explore the often-overlooked world of rivers, lakes, and streams. Our freshwater exhibits feature native fish, eels, and aquatic plants, highlighting the importance of these ecosystems and the creatures that depend on them.

Our interactive touch pool invites kids (and curious adults!) to safely touch marine creatures like sea stars, shells, and even shark eggs. Supervised by our friendly educators, it's a hands-on experience that inspires curiosity and respect for marine life.
