Year 5 -Tools of The Trade
Year 5 students explore how the form and behaviour of living things support survival. Through close observation and guided discussion, students learn how animals use physical features and behaviours as tools to meet their needs in different environments.
Led by our Conservationist, students investigate a variety of bird species to understand structural adaptations such as beak shape, feet, wings and feeding behaviours. The program also highlights current Tasmanian conservation efforts, with a special focus on the endangered Swift Parrot, helping students connect scientific learning with real-world conservation action.
