Tassie Devil Encounter

$60 for 2 people | Minimum age: 5 | Duration: 20–30 minutes

Meet the mighty Tasmanian Devil (Sarcophilus harrisii) — translating to “Harris’s flesh lover” — in an unforgettable encounter with Tasmania’s most iconic native predator.

As the world’s largest surviving carnivorous marsupial, the Tassie Devil has a compact, muscular build, a broad head, and a short, powerful tail. Their black fur is often marked with distinctive white patches on the chest, flanks, or rump — though some are pure black. Males can weigh up to 14 kilograms and stand about 30 centimetres tall at the shoulder.

During your encounter, you’ll step inside their habitat alongside one of our experienced keepers to learn about their diet, behaviour, and important role in Tasmania’s ecosystem. You might even hear their signature growls or witness their strong jaws in action!

Best of all, 10% of every encounter goes directly to the Save the Tasmanian Devil Appeal, supporting vital research and conservation efforts to protect this iconic species for future generations.

Experience Includes:

  • Meet Tasmania’s famous devils up close

  • Learn about their care, diet, and conservation efforts

  • Discover fascinating facts about this incredible native species

  • Capture great photos and lasting memories

Perfect for: Families, wildlife lovers, and anyone keen to meet a true Tassie icon
