Miniature Ponies

Miniature Ponies at Hobart Zoo and Aquarium Zoo

Small in size but big in personality, Miniature Ponies are one of the most lovable members of our farmyard family. With their compact build, expressive eyes, and playful spirit, these gentle ponies are perfect companions for kids and first-time animal lovers.

In the wild

Miniature ponies have been bred for their small stature and kind temperament for hundreds of years, originating in Europe and the British Isles. Despite their size, they’re strong, smart, and love attention from humans—especially when treats are involved!

At Hobart Zoo and Aquarium Zoo, our miniature ponies live in an interactive paddock where they can meet guests, explore their surroundings, and enjoy the company of other farm animals.
